The first Creative City Network of Canada conference was held in Vancouver, BC in November 2002. Since then, the CCNC has organized an annual meeting in different Canadian cities for established and aspiring culture workers to meet, share ideas, connect, and work together to build vital infrastructure for arts and cultural development across Canada’s towns and cities. The conference is now known as the Creative City Summit.
Connecting with sector colleagues is an essential part of developing culture in Canada. Every year, delegates representing culture work across the country gather to share, learn, and grow. Each Creative City Summit offers content that is national in scope and addresses the breadth of issues within the practice of local cultural development for communities of different sizes and geographies.
Join us in Waterloo, ON from October 4-6, 2022 for an exciting itinerary of speakers, peer presentations, roundtables, networking, and local animation. In-person and virtual tickets will be available in spring 2022.
Our hosts at the City of Waterloo are all about collaboration—how when we collectively buy-in and band together, we are positioned to reach far beyond what we could do alone. This Summit is about pooling our offerings, expertise, and ideas to play the best possible role in Canada’s economic recovery. That’s why the theme of the 2022 Creative City Summit is ALL IN: New Pathways for Moving Forward. In Partnership with the Cities of Kitchener and Cambridge and the Region of Waterloo, the City of Waterloo and CCNC cannot wait to welcome Canada’s culture professionals in October of 2022.
