Association of Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities

The Association of Vancouver Island and Coastal Communities is a body formed for the purpose of representing in one organization the various municipalities, regional districts and other local governments of Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast, qathet/Powell River, the North Coast and the Central Coast.
In early April each year, AVICC hosts a two and a half day Annual General Meeting and Convention. The event attracts over 250 member delegates as well as sponsors, exhibitors, partners and other non-member delegates. Members are invited to host the event and if selected, are involved in the planning.
The main Convention starts at 2 pm on a Friday and finishes at noon on Sunday. A pre-convention program is held on Friday morning, and often involves study tours or forums. A Welcome Reception is scheduled for the Friday evening and an Annual Banquet on Saturday evening.
